Stellar Blade Beginner’s Must-Read Guide: Best Settings, Early Skills, and Combat Tips
Start strong in Stellar Blade with optimized settings, essential early-game skills, and pro tips to help you survive and thrive.
Introduction
Welcome! This guide covers essential tips every new player should know — including optimal game settings, early-game skill recommendations, and beginner-friendly techniques — to help you get started smoothly in Stellar Blade.
Game Settings Optimization
-
Auto Loot Items (Gameplay → Auto Loot) Turn this ON. Without it, you’ll be mashing R2 to pick things up constantly — it gets exhausting fast.
-
Sensitivity Adjustment (Controls → General Horizontal Sensitivity) The default setting (0) may feel too sluggish. We recommend setting it to 2 for faster camera movement. If you’re prone to motion sickness, keep it at the default.
-
Disable Auto Lock-On During Attacks (Controls → Auto Lock-On While Attacking) Turning this OFF allows for more flexible attacks without constantly switching targets.
-
Motion Blur & Camera Shake (Display → Motion Blur / Camera Shake) The default (10) may be too intense. Lower it or disable it (0) for better visual comfort.
Useful Tips & Tricks
-
Blue Mini Robots (Always Destroy!) Found during exploration — destroy them to obtain rare upgrade materials (e.g., Shield Expansion Modules, Drone Upgrade Modules).
-
Heal Outside of Camps You can sit on sofas or chairs to recover health. Note: This doesn’t respawn enemies or save progress.
-
Sprinting Mechanic Sprinting activates after running for 5 seconds, increasing speed significantly. You can still scan or double-jump during this. Note: Sprint is canceled when encountering enemies.
-
Ammo Management Bullets are not refunded after death — you’ll need to buy more if wasted.
-
Merchant Affinity & Outfit Unlocks Buying items from Xion merchants (e.g., Roxanne) increases affinity, unlocking new outfits. Outfits require polymer materials for crafting (buyable at the “Avian Sisters Factory”).
-
Drink Collection Machine (Important!) After progressing the main story, a drink machine appears in Xion Camp. The more drinks you collect, the better the rewards (e.g., grenades, potions, final reward is the “Nano Suit”).
-
High-Damage Execution Trick After knocking an enemy back, quickly switch to your gun and shoot their weak spot (yellow dot) for massive damage. Execution: Knockback → Quick Gun Switch → Aim & Fire at Weak Point
⚔️ Recommended Early-Game Skills
Survival Skills (Max These First):
- Focus Gain – Generates more energy from perfect parries
- Perfect Dodge II – Boosts benefits from dodging
- Blink & Knockback – Blink auto-unlocked; Knockback requires practice
- Ambush – Stealth one-hit kills, great for crowd control
Attack Skills:
- Beta Energy Charge – Regain energy when attacking
- Triple Combo – Third hit stuns enemies
- Shield Break Strike – Breaks shields quickly (best with Shield Damage Boost)
Drone Upgrades (Recommended Order):
- Hacking Tool – Unlocks doors, a must-have
- Scanner Upgrade – Increases scan duration
- Ammo Capacity – Adds +10 to max bullets
- Shotgun & Homing System – Auto-targeting, high damage potential
Exospine & Combat Strategy
- Chain-type Exospine: Upgrading to Tier 2 is enough in early game; Tier 3 is costly and less efficient.
- Core Battle Tip: Rely on perfect parries & dodges to trigger bullet-time.
- Beta Skills like Triple Combo and Shield Break are highly effective when combined with gunfire targeting weak points.
Summary
- Settings Optimization: Auto loot ON, disable attack lock-on, reduce camera shake.
- Tips: Destroy blue bots, use sprint wisely, master executions, increase merchant affinity.
- Skill Priorities: Survival (parry/dodge) → Attack (combo/shield break) → Drone upgrades.
